Orange Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb bag of fresh cranberries
  • 1 C water
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 C orange juice

Directions:

Rinse the cranberries in a strainer with cool water and remove any stems and bad/blemished berries. In a large saucepan, over medium heat, heat the water, juice, and sugar to boiling stirring occasionally. Continue boiling and stirring occasionally 5 minutes more to assure the sugar is completely melted.

Add the cranberries. Heat back to boiling over medium heat and stir sometimes. Put a lid on the saucepan and continue boiling about 5 more minutes until you hear the cranberries begin to pop. Remove from heat, give it a good stir, and allow to cool for about 20 minutes before refrigerating.

Comments:

This too is from the FlyLady and I’ve messed this up enough to know that the recipe needs some more thought, but when it’s right, it’s amazing. I saw something like this one and tried it out – also amazing. It called for lemon zest and lemon juice in addition to the orange juice.
