No Bake – Art from Food and Fun to Eat

Ingredients:
- mini-marshmallows
- yellow sugar sprinkles
- powdered sugar icing – white*
- Pirouline Cookies
- Cookies with a hole (see the photo in directions for example)
- Cookies without a hole (see the photo in directions for example)
Directions:
This can be delicate work because cookies crumble. That’s life. The easy part is an experiment with no quantities – make the icing* with powdered sugar and melted butter and/or milk and a drop of almond or vanilla extract. *One can also skip this part and simply buy icing as in the picture below. Use the icing like glue to hold the premade or homemade cookies together. Drip some more icing to make it look like melted wax.
Cut the marshmallows on the diagonal and then smush them in a little pile of the sprinkles (can be yellow or orange). Then glue these to the top. And decorate with more “melted wax.”

Comments:
These work without the extra cookies without holes too, but the extra cookies add some nice flavor and stability sometimes – they go under the cookies with the holes. Not sure where I first found the idea for these, but they look like candles and they are a HUGE hit with piles of kids whose parents aren’t worked up about sugar or allergies or wild kid fun.
