Some day I hope to have recipes linked here, but for now some photos and ideas. Traditionally, I remember Easter Sunday included a baked ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans or asparagus, and an Easter Bunny cake made in the shape of a rabbit wearing a bow tie with shredded coconut over the icing to make it look like a fuzzy bunny. We made the cake with two round cake pans. One became the head and the other had two big curved lines cut to make the ears. The piece left over in the middle of the two ears became the bow tie.
Here’s a fun picture of someone doing the same thing.

The modern world has amazing ideas for egg decorating. We loved the rubber band idea one year. We also made use of the crayon and a few stencils that came in a kit one year. I was bummed the store only had brown eggs left and it turns out they looked good too.

I tried to be healthy with the egg hunt a few years. That was not well received. The kids did not like sugar alternatives like nuts and odd “healthy” jelly treats.
After that I vowed to never make another lame egg, but I discovered chocolate in plastic eggs that might be in the hot sun for any amount of time is a bad idea too.
Money in the plastic eggs was a huge hit. I should have done more of that and more money too. Anyway. Maybe I’ll get lucky and do better for grandkids if/when that is a part of my life.
