COOL Gel Packs

a.k.a. BooBooBags

Not to eat but to heal… the picture shows the beta versions I made with the Seal-A-Meal. You can make them with zip-loc bags – be sure to double or triple up. Just use a cup or less of corn syrup and some craft glitter or plastic confetti. DON’T use anything pointy like the stars pictured below. Keep them in the freezer. Enjoy!

These are my little gift to the World.

Easter

Some day I hope to have recipes linked here, but for now some photos and ideas. Traditionally, I remember Easter Sunday included a baked ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans or asparagus, and an Easter Bunny cake made in the shape of a rabbit wearing a bow tie with shredded coconut over the icing to make it look like a fuzzy bunny.  We made the cake with two round cake pans. America’s Test Kitchen – we love when they say a product actually stinks – honesty! – but the main thing is that they really put in the time and effort to give great information. We couldn’t live with the pen thermometer.

They recently launched the Kids’ site – check it out – full of science in the kitchen as well as recipes, quizzes, fun stuff, and inspiration for grown-ups too.

Amy Sedaris – absolutely hilarious. Her book “I Like You – Hospitality Under the Influence” was my favorite book for years.

Martha Stewart – the kitchen goddess – recipe collections worth checking out.

Setting the Table! Kids version with a link for the adults too.

Bob makes the pancake mix and leaves it in a jar – when it is time to make pancakes, we add an egg, some milk, maybe a little sour cream… or simply just a little water. Yummy! Ari and his buddies made up a version of pancakes they call Plonkers. This is cheese and ground breakfast sausage and chocolate chips added. I’ve tried them and indeed – they are a good way to start the day.

Also – I totally recommend the Pancake Puff Pan!
