Ingredients:
- 1/2 C butter or margarine
- 1 C all-purpose flour
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1/2 C chopped slivered almonds, toasted
- 1 large cartoon cool ship
- 1-quart chocolate ice cream
- 1/4 C rum or 1 Tbl rum flavoring
Directions:
Melt butter in large skillet. Stir in flour, sugar, and almonds. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is golden and crumbly, 6-8 min. Reserve 3/4 C crumb mixture, pat remaining mixture into buttered 9″ springform pan – or use a standard cake pan but butter it well! Freeze at least 3 hours.
Mix cool whip with softened ice cream in a chilled large bowl. Fold in rum. Spoon into crumb-lined pan. Freeze until partly set – about 1 hour. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Return to freezer and freeze until firm.
