Prep The Table and the Seder Plate

Parsley, Charoset, A Roasted Hard Boiled Egg, Shank bone, Horseradish, and Onion.

Lots of Matzah!

Don’t eat Challah or other leavened bread products this week.

4 Glasses of Wine or grape juice.

Charoset

Chop, mix, taste, and adjust until you like it. We use what we have or go shopping for what we’re in the mood for. I try to avoid putting raisins in because I know Zach thinks raisins are deer turds.

Apples, walnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds, raisins, dried cranberries, dates, figs, apricots, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, honey, red wine.

Matzo Ball SoupĀ  I use various pre-made “organic” chicken stock options like the Pacific Foods cartons or the Better Than Bouillon brands.

Peeling hard boiled eggs can be a bummer. I put the eggs in water that covers the eggs by a few inches in a pan. Cover on. High heat. Wait for it to boil hard for a bit then turn off the heat and wait for 10 or so minutes. Pour out the hot water and run cold water which doesn’t do much, but makes it easier to put those hard boiled eggs in the fridg for a few hours. Peeling them later is the secret trick.

Main meal – Seriously good Brisket – made in a tin foil tent with Lipton Onion Soup Mix poured over the meat. Slow cooked for a long time.

Slow cooker or InstaPot roasted meat. Rotisserie chicken works too.

Roasted veggies.

Coconut Macaroons
